After a gorgeous wedding ceremony on a beautiful summer day, Smita changed into a stunning lime green lengha. The skirt of her lengha reminds me of ever so beautiful peacock feathers. I absolutely love her kundan choker paired with the lovely “kaan chain” earrings, and just can’t get my eyes off that gorgeous ring! She completes her chic look by playing up her eyes with a gorgeous green shadow and touching up her lips with a natural gloss. I absolutely adore how the soft curls frame her face.

With the spectacular venue as their backdrop, the couple’s shots are breathtaking. I adore how the couple is lovingly gazing in each others’ eyes in all the pictures.

The fuchsia, apple green, and white decor (with gold accents) at Smita and Sandeep’s reception is fabulous! Love the tall centerpieces with gorgeous roses, hydrangeas, and greens, accented with crystal hangings. The  gold overlays look beautiful and the candles create sets the mood for the evening. The cake is decorated with green fondant roses and looks lovely. The attention to detail at this wedding amazes me. How beautiful are the guest place cards?! With calligraphy handwriting, I simply adore how the gold and magenta sari borders were used to embellish each place card.

Hope you enjoy the beautiful pictures from Smita and Sandeep’s wedding reception by True Photography Weddings.

The pictures of Smita and Sandeep’s wedding look like they are out of a fairytale storybook. Smita looks like a beautiful Princess, and Sandeep like a charming Prince.  I adore how happy both Smita and Sandeep look in all the pictures.

The couple got married in a Hindu wedding ceremony at a beautiful outdoors venue, which is very reminiscent of a Mediterranean Estate. I love the colors that the bride chose for the wedding – absolutely perfect for a summer wedding.

Smita’s bridal ensemble is so well put together! From her stunning lengha, beautiful mehndi, lovely jewelry, and pretty bangles – everything is so well coordinated and looks amazing! The lengha has beautiful zardozi embroidery and kundan details. I simply love how the tikka compliments her gorgeous face.

And how lovely is the apple green and fuchsia decor?! The aisle, which is covered with rose petals and decorated with beautiful floral arrangements, leads up to a breathtaking wedding altar. The mandap has a beautiful golden canopy and the pillars are draped in roses and hydrangeas.

Enjoy the beautiful pictures from this wedding by True Photography Weddings. Stay tuned, coz tomorrow we will be back with their stunning Reception pictures.

Skin Care and Make up tips for Indian Brides

Today we are featuring beauty tips for all you lovely ladies! We recently interviewed Ashmeen Munjal, renowned make up artist based in India. Ashmeen started working as a make up artist fifteen years ago, and has learned from the very best: Shahnaz Husain, Habib, Nalini Yasmeen, and Cory Walia. She has salons in Delhi and Mumbai, and one slated to open very soon in Dubai. Ashmeen also works with many London based magazines and events. Here is the latest scoop on bridal beauty for you gals!

Skin Care Regimen Before Wedding

Yes, you do need to eat your fruits, and you do need to eat those vegetables. For a glowing skin, Ashmeen recommends white, green, and red colored fruits and veggies. Probiotic yogurt is a great antioxidant and great for skin. A regular diet helps a lot, which means your meals should be timely. Remember to put your sunscreen on a regular basis, and drink plenty of water. While wedding planning can take toll on the best of us, it is important to relax and pamper yourself around the time of your wedding.

First Things First

Every bride wants to have a flawless skin on their wedding day. For that make up base is very important. Ashmeen recommends high definition make up over any other kind, especially for long events. She says the HD make up products, not only make your skin glow and look natural, but it also lasts 8 to 16 hours, depending on the weather. This will definitely make for great pictures on your wedding day.

While bronze bases are very in these days, they should be avoided in bridal make up. Brides should use something that is “Forever and Elegant” not something that is “In Fashion but not Forever”.

Featured Engagement: Gary and Mandy

Our blog post today features a very special couple: Gary and Mandy. Gary asked Mandy to marry him in a very filmy-style proposal at the Union Square in San Francisco. The venue is very special to Gary and Mandy as they have shared joyous occasions at the Union Square together, and with family & friends.

Their story starts when the two saw each other at the Gurdwara back in the summer of 2009. The chance meeting turned into friendship when the two started facebooking each other. And as they say, the rest is history.

On the day Gary proposed, he was driving Mandy back from the airport and asked her to come shopping with him. When she saw the Bhangra dancers and Dholis in the middle of the square, she thought it was a community performance by a local Bay area Bhangra team. Mandy was overjoyed and completely taken by surprise when she realized that Gary was proposing. All of their friends and family came out to congratulate the newly engaged couple.
