We are so excited to feature the destination wedding of Ishna and Karan. Thank you Élan Events by Nipunika for sharing their beautiful story and gorgeous pictures.

How they Met

Ishna hails from Singapore, while Karan is from Dubai. The couple met in New York City, got married in Phuket, and both Ishna and Karan are now studying at HBS in Boston. Now that is what I call an International Love Story!

Ishna and Karan’s Wedding Festivities

The couple’s numerous wedding events were spread over three days at the JW Marriott in Phuket, Thailand. The festivities started with a Polynesian themed welcome dinner by the beach. The following day was Mehendi and a Buddha Bar inspired Sangeet. The celebrations culminated with a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception.

Ishna Di Mehendi

A combo of both their cultures, Ishna and Karan’s Mehendi had a vivacious Punjabi vibe, infused with rich Gujarati traditions. With dholki, dandiya, and beautiful bright colors, the couple’s mehendi was a riot. Love how the couple made their entrance in a rickshaw!

Ishna wore a gorgeous purple and fuchsia kurta with a contrasting floral Pakistani salwar. I love her beautiful “Umrao Jaan” earrings! Her mehendi is very pretty, and you can’t miss the bling ring!

How he proposed

Mallika & Adam met in college in Washington DC. To celebrate their fourth anniversary they went to Annapolis in Maryland, where they celebrated their first anniversary. They went on a walking tour of the city, and the tour guide kept not-so-subtly hinting that, after four years, it was about time for Adam to propose…little did she know. They also asked the concierge for advice on where to go for dinner, and the concierge kept telling them how she was trying to convince her son to propose to his girlfriend.

They decided to toast the event by bringing some champagne out to a little secluded beach before dinner. After they took a sip, Adam had Mallika close her eyes, so he could give her a present. When she opened the present, there was the ring! What a  perfect way to celebrate their anniversary and to start a new phase of their lives!

Wedding Day

Mallika and Adam’s Wedding Day was a great reflection of their personalities. Adam’s love for superheroes, was evident in the cufflinks worn by him and his groomsmen. I love the calla lilies and crystal accents used for the bride’s bouquet and boutonnieres.
